Demonstrating respect for human rights is crucial for sustainable development and addressing global challenges, such as modern slavery and the right to a clean, healthy and sustainable environment. At Newmont, our practices are guided by universally recognized human rights principles and our global Human Rights Strategy. This strategy is our framework for integrating respect for human rights into all aspects of our operations and actions.

Conducted social performance gap assessments at the sites acquired in the Newcrest transaction, identifying strengths and opportunities for improvement
Global internal representatives participated in a workshop to refine our global ASM Strategy, reinforcing our commitment to responsible and sustainable mining
All sites – except Brucejack, Lihir and Red Chris – had a social impact assessment (SIA) in place and updated within the past five years
