Natascha Viljoen, President and Chief Executive Officer

Natascha Viljoen is President and Chief Executive Officer of Newmont Corporation, the world’s leading gold company, and an active member of the Board of Directors. She is the first woman to lead Newmont as CEO in its more than 100-year history.

Since joining Newmont as Chief Operating Officer in 2023, she has overseen all of the company’s operations, with a focus on integration of acquired assets, portfolio optimization, and talent development across the company’s global footprint.

With more than 30 years of international mining experience, Natascha has held senior leadership roles across multiple commodities and continents. Prior to joining Newmont, she served as Chief Executive Officer of Anglo American Platinum (now Valterra), the world’s largest primary producer of platinum, and was a member of the Anglo American plc Group Management Committee. Earlier in her career, she not only gained hands-on experience working with operators and maintainers in mining and processing, she also held leadership positions at Anglo American, BHP and Lonmin, earning a reputation for safety leadership, operational discipline, and building high-performance teams.

Natascha is a second-generation miner. Her early exposure to mining—growing up in a mining family and accompanying her father, a winding engine driver, to work—instilled in her a deep respect for the industry and its people.

A native of South Africa, Natascha is passionate about the role of mining as a force for good, combining innovation with responsible practices to deliver value for shareholders, employees, host communities, and society.  She combines deep technical acumen with strategic execution, focusing on operational excellence, and embedding sustainability and safety into the company’s growth trajectory.

Peter Wexler, Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer

Peter Wexler joined Newmont in March 2024 leading the company's legal, compliance and regulatory affairs globally. Peter is a seasoned legal and risk management leader with more than three decades of international experience, including managing legal, risk, compliance, M&A, antitrust, litigation and corporate governance affairs within the industrial, technology, energy management, engineering, manufacturing and construction sectors. Before joining Newmont, he served as Chief Legal Officer at Schneider Electric, a Global 500 business, for 15 years and earned numerous accolades, including M&A Advisors Top Business Development Professionals of the Year in 2020 and Financial Times Top 20 General Counsel in 2022. Prior to that, Peter served as in-house counsel overseeing legal, risk and compliance at various companies, including American Power Conversion Corporation. Peter holds a J.D. from American University Washington College of Law and a B.A. in History and Political Science from the University of Vermont.

Peter Toth, Executive Vice President and Chief Sustainability and Development Officer

Peter brings to Newmont more than 25 years of leadership experience working in the resources industry across various commodities. Peter has held senior strategic, commercial, and operational roles across Europe, Singapore, Australia and the United Kingdom with Rio Tinto, BHP, and OM Holdings. Most recently, Peter led Rio Tinto’s corporate strategy as Group Executive, Strategy and Development, with accountability for business development/M&A, strategic partnerships, climate and sustainability strategy, closure, and exploration. Toth joined Rio Tinto in 2014 as Global Head of Strategy and became Head of Corporate Development in 2015. He established Rio’s current corporate strategy team, streamlined Rio’s commodity and asset portfolio, and led the development of Rio’s 10-year climate strategy, supporting the company’s ambition of reaching net zero emissions by 2050. Prior to joining Rio Tinto, Toth was Chief Executive of the ASX-listed OM Holdings Ltd. (OMH), an integrated manganese and ferro-silicon company with global mining, smelting, and trading operations. He is noteworthy for strengthening OMH’s operational and financial performance. Toth began his career with BHP in 1994, where, over the course of 15 years, he held a series of roles of increasing responsibility and scope. Peter holds a Bachelor of Business degree from Monash University, a Graduate Certificate in Management from Deakin University, and a Master of International Business degree from the University of Melbourne, in addition to executive development programs at INSEAD, Stanford and Oxford University.

Brian Tabolt, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Brian Tabolt is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Newmont Corporation, the world's leading gold company.

Since joining Newmont in 2021, Brian has held strategic leadership roles that reflect his contributions to strengthening financial oversight and discipline, as well as the evolution of capital allocation and integrated planning across the business. 

Prior to his current role at Newmont, Brian served as Senior Vice President, Global Finance and Chief Accounting Officer, where he led the company's global accounting, tax, financial reporting, and finance operations, playing a key role in supporting Newmont's financial integrity, capital discipline, and enterprise-wide performance management. He also served as Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer, Interim Chief Financial Officer, and Group Head of Financial Planning and Analysis. 

With more than 20 years of experience in finance, accounting, and corporate reporting, Brian has held leadership positions across public companies and professional services. Prior to joining Newmont, he served as Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer at Molson Coors Beverage Company, where he also held senior leadership roles in technical accounting and SEC reporting. Earlier in his career, he worked with Deloitte, building a strong foundation in audit and financial reporting.

Brian holds both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Mark Rodgers , Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

Mark Rodgers is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Newmont Corporation.

Since joining Newmont in 2020, Mark has held a series of senior leadership roles across the company's global portfolio, including Managing Director of the Africa Asia Pacific business unit, Managing Director for Asia Pacific, Papua New Guinea, and Latin America and Caribbean.  

With more than 30 years of experience in the resources industry, Mark is a seasoned senior executive, and prior to joining Newmont held leadership roles with BHP and Rio Tinto. 

Mark has developed a strong reputation for delivering positive business outcomes across diverse geographies and has served on several boards and executive committees. 

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mineral Processing (Extractive Metallurgy) from Murdoch University and postgraduate qualifications in Mineral Economics from Curtin University.

David Thornton, Executive Vice President and Chief Technical Officer

David Thornton is Executive Vice President and Chief Technical Officer of Newmont Corporation.  

Since joining Newmont in 2016 as Mining Manager at the Leeville operation in Nevada, Dave has held a series of increasingly senior leadership roles across the company's global portfolio. Prior to his current role, Dave served as Managing Director, Americas, where he oversaw operational performance across mining sites in Canada, Latin Americaand the Caribbean, while driving portfolio optimization, innovation, and environmental stewardship. 

He previously served as Managing Director, Latin America and Caribbean; Managing Director, Africa; Vice President, Productivity for North America; General Manager of the Carlin underground mines; and Vice President of Operations for Canada and the United States. 

With more than 25 years of experience in the global mining industry, Dave has built a distinguished career spanning mineral exploration, project development, and operations leadership. Prior to joining Newmont, he held engineering and leadership roles with Gold Fields in Australia and Barrick Gold Corporation. 

Dave is a strong advocate for innovation and technology and is passionate about advancing technical excellence to deliver safe, responsible, and sustainable mining practices. He combines deep operational and engineering expertisewith strategic leadership, focusing on productivity, performance, and long-term value creation.

Dave holds a Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering from Curtin University's Western Australian School of Mines and an Executive MBA from the University of Utah.

David Fry, Executive Vice President, Project Development

David Fry is Executive Vice President, Project Development at Newmont Corporation.

He is responsible for the company’s global project development portfolio, leading the shaping, advancement, and delivery of Newmont’s long-term growth pipeline across gold and copper.

Since joining Newmont in 2022 as Group Head, Projects, he led the integration, prioritization and execution of the company's global portfolio of capital projects, studies, and development joint ventures, with a focus on capital discipline,portfolio optimization, capability development, and value delivery. 

Prior to joining Newmont, David held senior leadership roles at Rio Tinto, serving as Managing Director, Projects andManaging Director, Project Services, with accountability for diversified commodity portfolios. Earlier in his career, he heldproject and operational leadership roles across the oil and gas, and power and utilities sectors, including with Origin Energy and UGL in Australia. 

David has extensive experience in the global mining and resources industry, delivering complex, capital-intensive projects in challenging environments. He is recognized for his commercial and technical expertise, and a disciplined,values based approach to project development, with a focus on maximizing value through rigorous project shaping, portfolio prioritization, and capital allocation.

David holds a Master of Business in Applied Finance from Queensland University of Technology and a Master of Project Management from the University of Southern Queensland.
