CDP Update

CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project) is a nonprofit that works with corporations and shareholders to disclose major corporations’ environmental impacts, namely greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and management of water resources. Newmont has participated in CDP’s annual questionnaire related to GHG emissions since 2007 and water since 2012, most recently receiving an A- rating for both. Due to platform changes and rising access costs for data users, Newmont will discontinue CDP disclosures starting in 2025. Previous CDP disclosures and annual performance data are available below with more details within our Disclosure and Transparency Hub.

Community Relationships Review (CRR)

In 2009, we released the results of the Community Relationships Review (CRR), an independent assessment of our relationships with local communities. This report is the first of its kind by a mining company because it offered detailed, transparent and honest feedback from community stakeholders. The independent CRR highlighted what we do well and where we need improvement. Each year, we report findings and progress against our CRR action plan in Beyond the Mine.

EEO-1 Reports

To further support Newmont’s commitment to transparency, Newmont commits to voluntarily disclosing its EEO-1 forms on U.S. workforce data including race/ethnicity, gender and job categories, representing less than 10% of our employees. Full disclosure of our global workforce can be found in our annual sustainability report.

Conflict-Free Gold

In 2013, we officially adopted our Conflict-Free Gold Standard which reinforces our commitment to responsible and ethical business practices.

Beneficial Ownership and Transparency

Newmont is an original signatory to the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) and is actively involved in the efforts to promote revenue transparency and accountability in the extractive industry. We supported a statement that makes several commitments to Beneficial Ownership Transparency in line with the Expectations for EITI supporting companies.
