Update as of April 14, 2026 MDT

During the evening of April 14 AEST, the New South Wales Central West experienced seismic activity, including an Australian magnitude earthquake of 4.5MLa (as reported by Geoscience Australia) near the Newmont Cadia site. Safety procedures functioned effectively, and all underground personnel were accounted for and progressively returned above ground. There have been no reported injuries.

The safety and wellbeing of our people remains our highest priority. Underground operations have been paused while specialist teams undertake inspections and assessments.
