Conducting Environmental Baseline Study

A multidisciplinary team comprised of national and international specialists in environmental affairs, as well as a group of community members, are conducting a comprehensive environmental baseline study that will help us design strict control measures for environmental protection - not only during the useful life of the mine, but after closure as well.

Environmental assessments are evaluating the quantity and quality of surface water and groundwater; terrestrial flora and fauna; aquatic life and fish; meteorological conditions (wind, precipitation, evaporation); air quality; soil characterization and use; sea water quality; marine and fresh water ecosystems; and hydrographic basins.
