Located in the remote Arctic within the territory of Nunavut, Hope Bay is a very pristine and remote location, covering more than 1,000 square kilometers. Hope Bay's staff, who must fly into the site, is focusing on gold exploration and mine development in the central Canadian Arctic. The majority of Nunavut's population is indigenous Inuit, who are culturally related to the Inupiat in Alaska.
