Glen Barton is the former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Caterpillar Inc. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Valmont Industries.
Vincent Calarco is the former Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Crompton Corporation. He is Director of the Consolidated Edison and CPG International Inc. Mr. Calarco is Newmont's independent Chairman of the Board.
Joseph A. Carrabba is the Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cliffs Natural Resources (formerly known as Cleveland-Cliffs Inc). Prior to joining Cleveland-Cliffs in 2005, Mr. Carrabba held various senior operating positions with Rio Tinto PLC, including President and Chief Operating Officer of Diavik Diamond Mines. Mr. Carrabba is a Director of KeyCorp.
Noreen Doyle was the First Vice President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development from 2001 to 2005. Ms. Doyle currently sits on the Board of Directors of Credit Suisse Group, QinetiQ, and Rexam PLC and has served as the chair of the Budapest Bank Supervisory Board.
Veronica Hagen is Chief Executive Officer and a member of the board of directors of Polymer Group, Inc. since April 2007. Ms Hagen was President and CEO of Sappi Fine Paper North America from 2004 to 2007. Prior to working for Sappi, she served in various executive roles with Alcoa and Alumax, before its acquisition by Alcoa. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Southern Company.
Michael Hamson is Chairman of Hamson Consultants Pty Ltd. He is the retired Joint Chairman of McIntosh Hamson Hoare Govett Limited (now Merrill Lynch Australia), and served as the firm's Chief Executive from 1972 to 1986. He was a Director of Normandy Mining Limited from 1986 to February 2002, and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Genesis Emerging Markets Ltd.
Robert Miller is a principal of Dutko Worldwide and a former partner of the Jones Vargas law firm. He was Governor of the State of Nevada from 1989 to January 1999. He is also Director of Zenith National Insurance Corporation, Wynn Resorts Limited and International Game Technology.
Richard O'Brien was elected President and Chief Executive Officer in 2007, having previously served as President and Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer during 2006 and 2007 and as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from 2005 to 2006. Mr. O'Brien was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of AGL Resources in Atlanta, Georgia from 2001. Mr. O'Brien previously served in senior executive positions for Mirant (formerly Southern Energy, Inc.) and PacifiCorp. He has over 20 years of broad financial and operational experience in the energy, power and natural resources businesses. A graduate of the University of Chicago, Mr. O'Brien received his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics. He also holds a doctor of jurisprudence degree from Lewis and Clark College, Northwestern School of Law.
John Prescott is the Retired Director and Chairman of Australian Submarine Corporation Pty Ltd and the retired Managing Director of The Broken Hill Proprietary Company Limited, where he served as Chief Executive Officer from 1991 until March 1998. He was a Director of Normandy Mining Limited from April 1999 until March 2002.
Donald Roth is the Managing Partner of EMP Global LLC, an international private equity firm. Prior to co-founding EMP in 1992, he served as Vice President and Treasurer of the World Bank for four years. Mr. Roth also is a former Chairman and Chief Executive of Merrill Lynch Europe, Ltd. Currently, he serves on the Advisory Committee to the National Treasury Management Agency, which manages the Republic of Ireland's national debt. He is also a Commissioner of Ireland's National Pension Reserve Fund. Mr. Roth is a director of ISEQ Exchange Traded Fund Public Limited Company.
James Taranik is Regents Professor and Arthur Brant Chair of Exploration Geophysics in the Department Geological Sciences and Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno. He formerly served as the Director of the Mackay School of Earth Sciences of Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno. He is currently President Emeritus and the former CEO of the Desert Research Institute, a world-wide environmental research organization in the Nevada System of Higher Education.
Simon Thompson worked for the Anglo American group from 1995 to 2007 and served as an executive director of Anglo American plc from 2005 to 2007. He previously worked in merchant banking. Mr. Thompson is currently a non-executive director of Sandvik AB (Sweden) and Amec plc (UK). He was a non-executive director of AngloGold Ashanti Ltd (South Africa) from 2004 to 2008 and of United Company Rusal (Russia) from 2007 to 2009.
