Profile:
Allan Davey (Buck), Julieanne Barrett (Gypsy) and Neil Davey (fatboy) are the directors and owners of ‘Barking Dog Haulage’. Allan (aka Buck) has approximately 12 years of experience in the Construction, Building and Mining industries, of which the majority of time was as an operator on trucks and machinery. He and Julieanne are a united and driven couple, who currently own a 753 bobcat that has mainly been used for personal reasons on the house block and adjoining spare block of land they are currently living in. He also owns a 1979 Leyland 8 tonne tip truck (unlicensed, but already planned to be a water cart) and approximately 25 acres in the Northern Territory. He has researched prime movers and various kinds of trailers for approximately 18 months and believes now is the right time to enter the transport industry. He has found the truck he believes is the right machine to start a company. He is the inspiration and will be the drive behind the growth of Barking Dog Haulage (B.D.H.), and will also operate the trucks and machines as well. With his experience in the Earth Moving industry he can envisage the massive opportunities and financial values in supporting not only the road/rail transport industries but also the Earth Moving and Construction industries. Allan is currently working for Rio Tinto as a Train Driver in the Iron Ore Industry, he will remain in this employment until B.D.H. can afford a second truck/machine (perhaps something to move the bobcat, all depends on the opportunities that arise) Julieanne (aka Gypsy) brings B.D.H. the office expertise it will require. Her experience comes from over 10 years of working in administration and covers a wide variety of skills including I.T, bookkeeping/accounts, customer service and document preparation. She possesses a bright personality and is a real “go getter” when she has her mind set to something, along with excellent communication and negotiation skills that will enable her to be a positive contact/liaison person for our company. Julieanne will be the one who keeps the whole package as one, she will be researching upcoming and possible work for the machines, future machines and trailers (it was her that found the K100E). Working in with the accountant Julieanne will basically make sure B.D.H. will not fail due to bad planning or poor paperwork/book keeping. Neil (aka fatboy) has what B.D.H. can not do with out. He will be the main driver/operator to push B.D.H. to be the best that it can be. He brings almost 20 years of transport experience to the company. With extensive experience within the industry he has covered almost every part of Australia, most of which he has done alone. With no less than 5 million kilometres to his driving career, it is to his credit he still has a spotless driving record. Neil first started in the transport industry as a furniture removalist at the age of 16 as an offsider. By 18 he had his rigid truck license and was moving people all around the country, from Bunbury in Western Australia to as far away as Bundaberg in Queensland, and everywhere in between. By age 26 he had vast amounts of experience in smaller trucks, as well as picking up the skills to get going again should the truck break down (as you can well imagine, when you drive to Aboriginal communities in Arnhem Land and the Central Deserts of the Northern Territory, the ability to get the truck going again can mean the difference between life and certain death.) At 27, he made the step to road trains. Adelaide to Darwin express, as a solo driver, he relished the job. He had finally fulfilled his dream of operating the biggest combination you can see on public roads. From there he stepped into a job from Darwin to Broome, and then eventually based himself back in Perth to drive Perth to Darwin. Seeking a change from furniture removals, he started working with Marley's Transport, the biggest dedicated grain handling Transport Company in Western Australia. During this time he has had extensive experience in end tippers, tankers and stock crates.

a1987 K100E model Kenworth prime mover.
The K100E…This particular machine has recently had an ‘in chassis rebuild’ on the motor to the value of $38,000, amongst a great deal of other items having been inspected/replaced as required. The truck has not worked since the rebuild, to the point where it still requires being “run in”. According to the present owner the only thing that has not been rebuilt in the machines recent working history is the front driving differential. Both the interior and exterior are amazing, and this particular truck is nothing short of impressive! This was the selling point for all financial members with this machine; anyone who has taken such an immense amount of pride in the visual presentation has most definitely had the same for the mechanical side to the truck as well. This is well documented for the history of the truck. It has 500HP on the flywheel (435HP on the rear axle) and is currently rated to 90t.
