Early this year, the Carlin Surface Mine Engineering department - comprised of 35 employees, who worked 1.5 million exposure hours since 1985 - celebrated its 24th year of operating without any lost time accidents. Many team members spend their work week near heavy mining equipment and mine engineers spend a significant amount of time in the field.
Their safety requires that they employ excellent communication, comply with and improve upon all safety standards, and diligently watch out for their own and others' safety. Newmont applauds the group for this remarkable achievement, as they strive to beat their record and complete a 25th consecutive year with no lost time accidents.
