Business and government leaders from around the globe convened at the annual World Economic Forum in Switzerland to discuss the state of the global economy, focused on the theme of Rethink, Redesign and Rebuild.
Richard O'Brien touted the importance of sustainability to ensure long-term business success.
"The mining industry is impacted by the global economy," he said. "But the theme among us is that we all are connected with governments and communities. What is critical to the mining industry is sustainable development - getting it right with the communities in which we operate. We must also level the playing field to ensure we are transparent in how we do business."
