Newmont has the potential to double our mine output in Ghana. The positive outlook is a result of promising near-mine exploration now taking place near Ahafo and with the recent mine lease granted at Akyem. If development at Akyem proves feasible, the mine could have an additional work force of about 3,000 - similar to that of Ahafo. We are actively exploring in other areas of West Africa.
